A. PCOD and PCOS management

PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) is becoming a very common hormonal disorder impacted is characterized by multiple (‘poly’) cysts in the ovaries that cause hormonal imbalance that leads to predominantly irregular menstrual cycles and infertility among other issues. 

More than 20% of women in childbearing age are now suffering from PCOD while over 9% are suffering from PCOS. Menopause is natural biological process that is often the cause of many health and emotional conditions / symptoms in women in the menopausal age. In simple terms , menopause is the end of the menstrual cycles. A period of 12 consequiteve months without menses is termed as menopause. Though the average age is from to 46 to 51 years in India, premenopausal symptoms like mood swings, irregular periods, hair fall, skin dryness can start some years before too.

It is of prime importance that nutritional requirements are taken care during this period and also steps to manage the mental and emotional stress that comes with it.  With the correct guidance this phase can avoid nutritional deficiencies and also make this transition, a smooth one.

A. Thyroid issues

Hypothyroid, caused by an underactive thyroid is a condition in which the body’s metabolism is hampered . The underlying cause – medical condition or lifestyle should be ascertained and the dietary approach has to be designed. In most of the cases, when the correct diet and exercise pattern is adopted, hypothyroidism can be managed (with medications) or in some cases , even completely reversed. Thyroid management is often coupled with obesity management, diabetes and anxiety and needs proper guidance to address these conditions too.
